Hi, your standard brakes are 240mm discs. The Rs turbo series 2 ones are 260mm discs.
I am in the process to put series 2 brakes in my car, and is a cuestion of direct bolting calipers with guides and discs.
Also you can mount cosworth front brakes that are 283mm discs.
In this same forum there is a thread on how to mount them, and is very easy also.

you have to drill the hub out to 12 mm because the thread is in the caliper then they bolt straight on with 260mm escort turbo disks and they are loads better than standered brakes im pushing 200 bhp and even stamping on brakes they stop really well

read the sticky at the top of the page or just click this https://passionford.com/forum/ford-escort-rs-turbo/163892-how-to-upgrade-to-cossie-brakes-updated-27-07-2011-a.html

S2 calipers can also be used with 283 mm cossie disks and will be more than adequate!!
