come on mate 5-8 grand thats a bit cheeky it would be 10k at least these cars are making daft money nowadays and one as mint as this with a 32k full resto would demand a lot of money

I would have thought (as has been said) between 10k & 15k.
Sadly you wont get anywhere near your build price.
Very nice example tho

I almost spat my bulmers out when i read that.

Do you have pictures of the full build?

What did it look like before it ended up looking like this?

Pre build pic's will give a greater impression of what needed doing, and where the money you stated you have spent went in the rebuild.

All that adds credit to a build and has an amazing impact on the person buying the car.

the guy that done the rebuild more than likely got the pics going to see him at the weekend hes lives and breaths RS's hes in the clasic mags and tthat names mark but cant quite recall his last name lol hes a bit of a perfectionist as u can see

the car was built for a custom were money was no object wish i had that jod but the guys job ment he had to work in a different country and couldn get the car out there so made a deal with the guy who built it and mark kept the car sellin it on to my dad

it was only that he was takin his rs there for body work that he saw it under a sheet and fell in love with it lucky buy really

when i said that, what i ment was :-

I dont dispute the fact that it's had a 32 Grand restoration, cos clearly it has had a lot of money spent on it - what i ment was, in response to the sellers Question of "how much do you think it's worth?" i dont think it's worth anythwhere near Ł32 Grand - given todays petrol and car ownership prices i would seriously estimate that to be around 8K tops.

it is at the end of the day going to spend most of it's life in sotrage, with the odd show outing, it's not going to be used as a car, so nobody is going to pay a fortune for it.

dont get me wrong, lovely motor - but it wont make 10K

thats a fair comment i guess

its just i seen them for sale for the twelve k mark and no were as good as this one the fact that 32k has been spent on it dont mean its worth that i agree it just means its a mint example i was guessin around 15k witch is what some people have said at the end of the day its worth what some 1 wants to pay for it

and if some people have said its worth about 10 - 15 then i would guess theres people out there willin to pay 10 - 15 for it thats my view anyway

More than 10k.

If you are lucky and find the right person, then perhaps up to 14-15k.

I would suggest around 11-13k is the right price.

(p.s. I can't see how 32k could possibly have spent on restoration - even at the inflated prices that "new" items like grills and wings are going for on e-bay these days).

32k inclueded the guys time to do the job plus parts

not for this car but da payed 1500 just for a set of outer wings for his mk2 RS 2000 and everything on this car has been reconditioned or renewed in some shape or form as in new for shell or new parts never fitted that some old guy has kept in his shed for 30 odd years

Worth 12,500-13000, as that looks very very clean. Its not tax free tho and thats a deal breaker for some, but mark my words....with the housing slump and generally depressed state of the economy I think the value of MK1/MK2 escorts has hit its peak, might possibly be coming down just a touch???

If its as good as the photos suggest that is is
and underneath is to the same standard as bodywork/engine bay its worth Ł15k
That would sell no problem over here.

Nice bit of kit mate, But now may not be the best time to sell.
As with all recessions it is not only house prices that are affected, Car prices are to as many people stop buying luxurys and unfortunatly that is an unecessary luxury for most people.
Real nice though

Sold my Mum's Escort Mk2 Popular few months back for more than she paid for it 30 years ago, so just shows you and hers was the basic model, drum brakes all round etc. but it was in very good original condition, not perfect like yours, cos she used it everyday!

From my experiance trying sell it, just be patient, I had alot of dreamers ring up, but even I was surprised how much it was worth. First guy who actually could be bothered to come and view it bought it.

If my Mum's car is a guide, and I nearly sold it for Ł400!!!, silly boy, yours is easily 10K min.

Good luck and hope you get as good a price as we got.

only an origonal in my opinion is worth that kind of money

what willit be worth in 10 -20 yrs when u cant get parts or have to pay even more stupid amounts to fix them

if i was to buy somthing like this i would drive the arse of it
and have fun in it so i would have some good memories of driving it rather than looking at it

should be driven not put in garages, there cars not paintings

we have a saph 4x4 it is very clean but it gets hammerd every time it goes out

not slagging off the car it is a dream car

yes a rebuild of the HOLE CAR

every part of engine / gearbox / rear axle / RENEWED every part of the brakes suspension steerin rack hubs drums discs head lights rear lights bumpers then the body was completely stripped of wings etc... removed every bit of rot all new floor pans boot pans any thing faulty or worn (most things in a 34 year old car was replace or repaired when sprayed the shell was rolled so inside and out side was done as well as underneth all new carpits and head linins were sorced meanin Original just never fitted some old bloke kept in his shed thinkin that will come in handy one day all seats recovered dash and dyles all renewed every thing u could think of was done to make a mint car just the outer wings alone were 1500 then comes inner wings then it needs paintin all new pine stripes just turns in to a snow ball affect and u end up with 32k that inclueds the blokes time to complete the car at what ever he charges per hour

so 1500 just for the outer wings then u got to pay the guy to do it the paint it i can see it comin to 32k-----yes way
