Default manual fan switch

how do i fit a manual fan switch to a series 2?

connect it up to the + wire on the plug to the fan sensor in the thermostat housing.
Worked just fine for me

so i decide when my fan cuts in, i have to change my fan switch as the fans dont kick in no more

do i have to take the fan plug out and extend that wiring?or does the plug stay in the switch?

plug stays on the switch, you tap into the wires to the plug though!

the temp sender is in the head just to left of the thermostat housing and the switch that controls the fan opertation is just under the thermostat housing and to see if the switch is at fault pull it off and place a piece of wire in the bit you've pulled of and the fan should come on, if not check fuse isn't blown and lastly if you know how and have got a multi meter check you've got a live to fan if so could be fan motor that has gone

i thought the temp was in the head! its defo the fan switch as my fans work when put wire on positive and put it on the battery. i changed the switch now so they should work

you can connect them to a switch inside your car if you want (i dont trust this as i would prob forget to turn them on) its really easy all you need is a 2 way switch and just extend the wires that go to the fan switch make sure you unplug them from your fan switch and just connect them to your switch and attach an inline fuse just to be safe then just turn them on when you want.
