Smile Had my engine cleaned

I called my mate last night who is into detailing and said to him I was going to clean my engine with fairy liquid and a sponge He wasn't impressed with that idea and told me to bring the car over

I've just finished fitting a T34 to my car & a stage 3 so the engine bay got quite grubby.

My mate covered the wings and windscreen to protect from overspray. Engine needed to be warm, but since I drove it here in my normal fashion, it was warm !!! We had to wait for it to cool down.

He then sprayed on some APC, some Meguiars Super Degreaser and got attacking with the brushes. Started to come up nice already. Left it for 10 mins then once we had made sure any bits were covered in foil, time to hose it all down. Looked a lot better so I mopped up while he did all my greying and manky plastic trim on the car. Started up the car and let it run for a while to dry the bay. Then sprayed on the Aerospace 303 sealant, wiped and then cleaned up any overspray.

His photos because I forgot to put the battery back in my camera

After

Don't worry the amal valve isn't staying there I just need a bracket and some new vacuum hose to relocate it I just need to remove the red paint from the hose to the throttle body now

It was my fault for wiping the engine with a rag I'd used for buffing off polish and spraying everything with WD40

It was as easy as said above. I copied and pasted my mates write-up

We sprayed it with all purpose cleaner, then degreaser, rubbed the degreaser in with brushes, sprayed it with degreaser again then left it for 10 minutes After that we hosed it down then let the engine run for around 10 minutes with the bonnet shut. We then dried everything with kitchen towel then sprayed it with the sealant. Wiped that down with kitchen towel then took it for a good thrash

I think that is the gist of it
