Cool mahle forged pistons..

just wondering if theres low comp or normal comp pistons, or are they all the same?

or does the headgasket lower the compression?

also how much would a good condition set of these pistons set you back (with conrods) 2nd hand?

cheers

its more important that they are forged if you are using for a turbo, low comp can mean a variety of of thigs, usually meaning that the piston crown has been decked/shaped to lower the compression. Trouble can arise from using thinker gaskets as a means of lowering compression whe high boost levels are used. For what they cost, go for new, as preveously mention burton sell acrylite pistons which are forged, they will also machine the pistons down to whatever compression you require. Cost id £170 per piston, standard rods should be fine for up to 18psi or 220 - 250bhp. If you want to push the boat out get steel rods at £170 ish each but this all depends on the spec you are after. Buying 2nd hand usually ends in tears, as I have found out with my little rs :-(

Hope this helps mate
