if u got a hole for the cps then u can use ur bottom end,if not u need a efi bottom end,or have yours drilled or set up a trigger wheel,TBH i think EFI is over rated
you really need a complete efi turbo engine mate or just the head plus your mfi block will need doing- along with the associated wiring of course- do a search on here its covered an awful lot
so your zetec in your sig is on mfi is it
FIRST thing I'd be doing with an RST is binning the MFi and getting something better. Some great systems out there for not alot of dosh.
had it converted to efi and it starts and stops on the button with no problems so far, power ain't everything

CHUNT69-couldn't disagree more tbh, i had mfi on my s2- had nowt but problems with air leaks, dodgy metering unit, fuel blockages, bad cold start etc

Am with you on that fella am just getting all the bits in now ready for my EFI conversion and with Cossie management

Currently gathering the parts to convert my S2 to EFi. I've gone for a diferent approach though. I've opted to keep my block (Rebuilt not long ago) with a EFi CVH head and the 1.8cvh aux belt pulley with trigger wheel and cps there rather than with the Flywheel.
All I need is to chose the management.....
There's a few options but as said do a search, this has been asked a few times!

well no one has mentioned the gotech option, im in the same situation, i have a stage 3 spec engine which is on mfi, but is limited to fueling due to the metering unit. Jamsport provide everything you need to convert to efi yourself for Ł1400, you dont have to do anything to your existing engine. In fact you can remove the metering unit which you can sell to regain some money. its a simple plug and play install, it gets the tdc information by pluging into your dizzy. Ive been talking to jamsport and have bought a lot of the required parts saving even more money, the gotech management is very advanced too (apparantly) superior to even cossie management.
Hope this helps

At the end of the day engine management is only as effective as the mapper no matter how advanced it is and as such you should find your mapper and then follow their advice and use the option they have the most experience and knowledge of.
Every system has good and bad points, even MFI its a fact !

A dizzy based system does not seem advanced, I even run coil pack on my cossie management
What makes it more advanced ?
and what model gotech are we discussing here ?

im only going on what the lads at jamsport told me, i know they will be biased in that they are the only gotech dealer but if your engine is mfi and spec'd up like mine, its more cost effective. They explained that gotech (the gotech pro) has many extra options built in and has more parameter settings as opposed to cossie magagement, launch control, boost control, anti log - atuff i wouldnt use tbh. imo i think that cossie/omex is more of a expensive trend bown up by the mags, a gotech ecu and loom costs 375. Not bad for what you get! im still baffled at all the different options, was just wondering, have found an engine up for grabs, its a fez 1600, is it hard to incorporate the 1600 loom with the existing mfi loon I already have?
