Do i get 205/45/16 or shall i get 195/45/16??

the 205's would be better for grip/traction/handling but i wonder if they would look a bit too big.

Whats other people with 16s running?

 

I run with 215/40/16 on escos rims with no problems.

depends on what width the wheels are mate. might be better off with 195 but if you take them to the tire place they will sort it for you.

 

they're the 6.5j mondeo wheel

205 would be the widest i'd go on 6.5 inch wide rim.

i run 215 40 16 on my S1 on 7 inch wide wheels.

 

Im a bit gutted really as i had a set of the rarer 7inch wide mondeo wheels that i had on my everyday escort gti but then 2 of them were badly buckled so i sold the car with that set. I'll probably get 195/45/16s then, i just thought they would look a bit skinny. Maybe a good idea for clearance mind u as i have rear discs which pushes the wheels out a bt more doesnt it. 195 tyres are cheaper to, good stuff lol. Cheers for the advice/help.

 

i used 205/40s on the 16in mondeo wheels when i had them on a mk5 escort

 

Yeah thats the size i had on my mk6. I should of tried them on my turbo before i sold them but didnt think at time lol

205/45/16 on 7.5" rim at ET35...

 

I had these rims on my Escort, and even with the arches lipped, I had to run 195/45's and even then got some scrub, on -30mm springs...

 

i have Toyo Proxes 195/45 /16 on my mondeo wheels on my S2RST lowered with avo springs and koni shocks and dont get any buffing

 

205/45-16 on ET37 have run that for the last 10 yr on my escort's mk4 and fits fine no rubbing lovered 25mm. on Eibach springs
