Right now, ive been close to lobbing it out the window, recently well over the last month or two, when i first go into it to play online, i do Find game to say start a team deathmatch or whatever but it says downloading game settings.... does this sometimes for fooking adges, also quite alot if people try to invite me into a game , if this is going on while the invite me i accept it totally fereezes things and i ned to reset, when i eventually get on everythings fine

I was wireless connection at first and thought this is the problem, but hard wired it to my router and still the same!! im 2 meg and was fine before all this

Sounds like your PS3 has contracted aids from playing with Johnnys PS3, or Tac's.

 

 

 

I tell you exactly what it is.
You need to forward to ports on your router to the ip your PS3 uses.

Not sure what ports they are without looking,
think they are

3075 UDP
3074 UDP

This fixed my issue straight away.

Register and then post the problem on the PS3 boards, it's FULL of gobby americans but you'll maybe get one sensible reply, like I give occasionally

 

 

When ever the 'Downloading game setting' bar appears in the middle of the screen for ages and ages unplug your router for 20 secs then let it boot up again.

It will be fine!

 

It could be the ports forwarding thing, or as Smit(tybear ) says, reboot your router.

It isn't a bad idea to reboot a home router every now and then anyway...
