The carbon roof just goes over the existing rotting roof what’s the point in that?

It’s not like with the fiesta carbon roofs where you can remove the top skin.

The other thing that would worry me will the carbon stand the flex of shell?

I am tempted by a carbon roof and rear 90 spec spoiler but until Dave (twins) has had it on for some time I am going to hold fire.

I just don't like the look of the Carbon roof.

Twins car, for example, is awesome and the work he has done it second-to-none, but I just don't like the look of the roof.

a carbon roof will flex just like a metal one but will improve the rigidty of the car if bonded in place correctly.
Are these carbon roof replacing the upper skin? if there not wot the point as its just gonna continue rusting underneath
I'd be very interested in one that actually rplaced the skin

FPMSL. So, bond a Carbon roof over the top of the steel roof, then paint it??

Sounds like a Paddy McTavish mod.

If you wish to cut your skin off leaving a border of metal to bond the carbon one to then i cant see a problem as the carbon one would be thicker where the roof was cut out ,i left mine on as my roof was mint

Id be surprised if you can get a "new" roof from anywhere nowdays your best bet is to source a mint second hand one (there are plenty about) and have it treated and fit that.

If it's someplace abroad get a courier to collect and deliver them. Theres plenty of them that will collect/deliver stuff like bonnets, doors or a roof etc.. or if it's from fords then they shoud be able to get it shipped pretty much anywhere

Hi

we had a ford parts guy (bristol street manager) looking since last year and they didn't have any, nor non genuine ones

I currently have a sunroof roof and non-sunroof off 2 donor cars, not decided which i'm going for yet. The non sunroof will last longer and would be better if it ended up on it in the gravel am still talking myself into losing my sunroof - though the escort we got the non-sunroof off was an early s2
