Default Changed my clutch - won't grip :S

Hi nightriders.

I've just(almost five hours ago) changed my clutch to a 6puck sinter, with modified pressureplate(more pressure type of modifing)

But, the old have had a tough turn and there's some marks on the flywheel. I guess it got a little too hot or something, but feels smooth enough and haven't got any marks or anything.

Well, we bolted the lot together and pulling off the lift it immediatly feels sooooo good comparing to the 4puck I relieved hours earlier.

Driving out on the main road problems comes to the surface, in the shape of (don't know how you say it in english) "sluring". Meaning the clutch won't grip.

So, can the flywheel be so damaged, even if it feels good, that I will have to replace it ? Or is there something else causing this ?

Thx for reading through, will surly appreciate every single helpful answer
(Sry about the english)

Hi mate, I think alot of people would of got the flywheel skimmed (sliped) but if you say it not too bad then i think it will maybe take a bit of time for the clutch plate to bed in, The same as brakes are always shit for a while til they bed in.
Also double check the auto adjuster on the peddle is not too tight causing it to be putting pressure on plate. good luck
Regards steve

i would have the flywheel skimmed everytime you fit a new clutch. but it is possible that it will wear in if there is no problem with the cable as said above

Wow that's so comforting. I will check the autoadjuster now, and take it for a spin

Thanks everyone for the answers

They always slip when they first go in. I can only assume they have some sort of protective coating on the material like tyres do to protect them from degrading in storage.

Adjusted the thingy on the pedal today, seemed like it was all good on the testdrive, wheelspin in third gear, but when the rain dryed up it was back to crap. Seems like we have to change the flywheel

As twellsie says give it a bit of time, it will bed in just that the material takes a bit longer than std stuff.
Good luck dude.
