Audi S3 vs Mondeo ST220

Audi S3 vs Mondeo ST220
Could be clutching at straws here, but would I be mad to go up against a new Audi S3 with 265PS in my ST220 which has 248BHP?
The S3 is 30kg lighter, and about 15BHP up yet does 0-60 1.1 seconds quicker than my ST.
Curious to know what the real life difference would be, making full use of the revs; how far behind would it leave me?

ST220 0-100: 16 seconds
Audi S3 0-100: 13.6

The van it is.
On a real serious note, how about a rolling start from around 70mph?

They have 265ft/lb, I have 210ft/lb.
I'd need to be in 3rd to even stand a chance
So wondering if anyones driven one really, as figures on paper don't necessarily translate to being all that on the road.

You reckon the quickest way around a track is with 100% grip, no tyre squeal and the traction control turned on..... you have no chance!!!!

The new S3 is fairly nippy! Each one I've come against doesn't seem to pull away much, and those poxy Corsa VXRs? Pah!

Back on topic, I can only hope they are permanent 4 wheel drive so have a great big dirty transmission loss

Interesting...
Those S3's aren't permanent four wheel drive are they? So the transmission loss won't be too bad. What happened when you raced one?

Not strictly true... They run a haldex torque biasing set up IIRC?

It's all to do with the torque manifold outlet on the cam shaft intake. You would never understand.
