i prefer the looks of the r33 gtr by quite a way.
but after talking to a guy today and other things ive heard the purists seem to prefer the r32 gtr.
i know its lighter(not sure by how much).
are all the mechanicals the same in standard form-ie engine, turbo's,running gear ,brakes, etc.i know they all have the rb26 engine but were there improvements on the later cars?
are they the same to tune?
is the r32 the better track car due to its lighter weight?
ive always fancied an r33,but maybe a modded r32 could be the way forward.....
look forward to some good replies

Looks aside they're quite different to drive. R32 feels smaller and more 'nimble', and R33 feels like you're in a big car. A big fast, bloody capable car, but more unwieldy down narrow roads. All IMHO obviously!
There is a silver R33 GTR in my local area although only see it very rarely when the weather is good. But it is such a head turner. It's not loud or brash but sounds absolutely lovely and you can't help but think it looks the fucking bollocks. Much prefer looks wise the R33 over the R32. As for the rest of it, haven't a clue

i take it you liked the r33 though martin.were they modified?
ive seen some nice cars circa 400 bhp but cant help but look at the supposedly 550-600 bhp cars

is there anything that is problematic with them?seem to hear a lot of oil pressure probs.

yes this tread needs pics!! I was looking through autotrader the other day, seems the GT-R command a much much higher premium over the GTS, also whats the V-SPec all about?

Yeah the GT-R's seemed to start at 8K going upwards, that was for the older shape cars also, 92, 93 cars. I do like them but the interior just looks
horrid.
My good mates got a very nice R33 GTR V spec arouund 400bhp. Not stupidly fast but faster than alot of stuff, really nice car to drive aswell.
Dont bother with a GTS Jay just get a GTR. You wouldnt buy a Sierra Ghia over a Cossie would you.

yes it does-if my impreza goes tomorrow ill be ringing him.if its any good though it will be already sold!
think that one on autotrader is a scam mate, mite be wrong! but saw it on pistonheads the other day for 16k, its a mental car it used to belong to harvey gibbs brother. think he sold it for about 20k a few years ago
Looks wise it has to be the R33 & those 3 above look stunning. One of my mates has the R33 & another has the R32. I was passenger on track in the R32 the other week then I drove the R33 on track that afternoon and other than the 150bhp difference I couldn't really tell much difference. I was due to drive them both back to back around the track but the R32 caught fire in the morning session
R32 (not the best photo I know
)

R33

They are both very capable cars and the R33 with 365bhp was a lot of fun on track, I love them and my next car will be a skyline, I just can't decide which one.

Personally I prefer the look of the R32 over the R33 (yes the interior is a bit like a Nissan Bluebirds!) but each car seems to vary in looks, some R33's do look nice as do some R32's look better than others, when I have enough pennies saved I'd like an R34 GTT (as no where near afford GTR!)

Massive, massive thread on here about the very same question
http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/46...hlight=r33+r32
Ive read it all as im thing of getting a GTR
My thoughts are
R33 looks better
R32 is a drivers car if you know what your doing
R33 is better for drivers like me who will prob be scared of the power !!!
