Need help with a formula

if the text in the cell is 5 it need to show High, if text is 3 it needs to show Med and if text in cell is 1 it needs to read Low

i am really stuck

go to format, conditional formating.... and then set rules up as per you have said... easy

use the function, < > and 'and if or' functions...

Say F42 is the cell you want then apply this statement

=IF(F42=5,"High",IF(F42=3,"medium","low"))

I always use a adjoining cell, so you can see your reference.

Such as placing this forumla into C1

=IF(D1=5,"HIGH",IF(D1=3,"MED",IF(D1=1,"LOW","n/a")))

No probs mate although i'd like to point out if your numbers can be a 2 then my formula wont like that! it'll prob say "low"

So Richardpon's is a more complete formula but aslong as you only have the 3 values mine is fine
