Default Cops with speed camera on the hard shoulder?

Coming back from Perth this morning I noticed a traffic car parked up on the northbound hard shoulder just around the bend from the Bridge of Earn slip road and the cops looked like they were using a hand-held radar gun.

It's a good place to catch speeding cars because it's a long fast sweep and they would be out of sight till you were zapped but I've never seen them do that on a motorway before, (they were not on one of the Police Only humps) and I'm not sure how safe they would be, standing at the back of their car.

Could it be anything else they were using?

Does that answer your question?

If they tried to stop me on the hardshoulder I'd just go on till the next exit or service station. No way I'm spending one single second stationary on the hard-shoulder unless I really have to...

If it's on a bend you can cotest it, as they cannot gain a suspicion of an offence, as the primary evidence is provided by the camera, this is why thier own rules stae it has to be a certain distance on a FLAT STRAIGHT ROAD.

Sounds like there was 2 of them, so no evidence needed to say you were speeding other than their experience anyway.
