Anyone been to these? We've got a couple of VIP tickets to it from one of our suppliers... worth making the trek up there or not?
I'm thinking it should be a reasonable laugh.. free beer, free food and watch the racing..

Event organisers plan special one-day August festival as June and July events are unavoidably cancelled.
During the past twelve months Motion Works has developed the all-new motor racing series of POWERnights. A new venture aimed at providing Thursday evening motorsport entertainment to enthusiasts whilst attracting a new audience and providing cost effective all-day testing, qualifying and races for Club and National level competitors.
The first three pilot events last August proved successful with eight strong race grids, spectators extending to over 4,000 at the finale, positive PR coverage, feedback and enjoyment for all those who participated and attended. Like any new venture the first few years are critical and whilst the concept, presentation and show seems to have been enjoyed by both the competitors and spectators alike, the total numbers of each at the recent 08 May event did not reach the targets required to maintain the series at a viable level.
The current economic climate suggests this will become even more challenging and therefore the organisers have decided to focus on securing support for a POWERnights festival on Thursday 21 August. The POWERnights Festival will feature a number of new developments and attractions for both spectators and competitors.
To allow all of the resources to be allocated to the August event, the decision has been taken to cancel the two events of Thursday 19 June and Thursday 31 July and any race entry fees received for those POWERnights meetings will be refunded in full or credited to the August event.
Series Director Roger Etcell said; "It is vital that as a promoter we continue to experiment and develop new ideas. Our industry is behind other sporting equivalents in this area but I feel it is an extremely important role that we must play when conditions allow. Unfortunately, the current economic climate is proving difficult especially in the area of sponsorship and these conditions are sure to be hitting our competitors and spectators pockets likewise, we therefore have to be realistic and cut our cloth accordingly. We do thank our sponsors, competitors, marshals and spectators of the series so far for supporting this new venture and we look forward to working with them in the future. The aim is to gather as much support for the POWERnights Festival on the 21 August, which will set the scene for a series of events in 2009".
