hi all, i have a series 2 with a high pressure oil pump and the oil light only works for a couple of times and then stops working, but as soon as you earth the wire it brings the oil light on.Do i need a high pressue oil light switch if so were can i get one from.
As Christian says,if you have good proper oil pressure you should never see the oil light on.The oil light will only come on when you have low pressure (about 7 psi),and if the oil light comes on with the engine running its too late,as the damage will be done already!!!Regards,Micky
iv got a problem like this, had 2.0 zvh turbo built and when i first started it the oil light was on then after running it ive never seen it on even when starting from cold,do you think pressure switch is faulty or is it just holding pressure well, the bulb works iv earthed the wire and i comes on.cheers oh and sorry for taking over the thread.
