Default Any One Acid dipped an Escort Cosworth ?

We had a mega thunderstorm last night that ended up out flowing the drains and my garage took in a tiny bit of water

I moped the water up and after moving loads of crap out of the way gained access to my car and it seemed a good idea to take out the old dead battery It's getting really scabby in the battery tray and the area around the filler cap is showing signs of festering from under the paint. This and the fact that there is swelling between the seams of the sills give me the urge to rip it to pieces and get it dipped along with electrophloretic (spelling) coating.

If you have had it done what did it cost ?

Did you leave the doors on?

Thanks for any help

Mark

Some people have done this to rallycars in norway, with so so results.. The acid gets into seams and stays there, only adding to the corrotion prossess..

Thanks for the links, looks like dipping is the only way to get the rust out of the seams and hidden nooks and crannies as long as they make sure all the acid is cleaned out !

I'm very tempted to get it done but at this rate it's never going to get on the road!
