Can anyone help me out just tried to start my rebuilt engine for the first time and it did not want to start got fuel and spark but does not want to fire up has anyone got any ideas thanks

 

crank sensor check the gap also the phase

 

Thanks was thinking it could be the crank censor but was not sure do u no the gap that it should be set at thanks

 

dod you rebuild the head too? assume its a cossie lump?

 

Distributor positioning is flexible as you probably know - to a few degrees, but a mate of mine had the rotor arm come loose the other day - worth checking imo

Yes did the head aswell and it is a cossie

 

Won't be the crank sensor, or you would have no spark.
As you have fuel and a spark, this leaves something out of time, check VERY carefully the alignment of the phase sensor, at TDC, make sure you have timed from the crank pulley LUG and NOT the "V" groove.
Just a general check of cam/dizzy timing would be good.
