Default top gear... crash test

im watching a top gear, and they just crashed a renault megane into the side of another car at 30mph with a driver with no helmet etc just to test the safety functions, looked very impressive , cars ugly as fook though lol. it has features such as the seatbelts pre-tension in an accident and more

Never heard of belt pre tensioners? They've been fitted to every car for over 10 years now

i must be a bit slow then, they were going on about them how they arn't like your normal belts and how they dont just lock but pull you back into the seat when detecting thier need

the old ones tighten upon impact.. these are detecting that you're gonna crash and tension the belt before you hit something..

They have something similar to a shotgun cartridge which triggers on impact and pulls you back in the seat before you have time to move.
