Default Escos front anti rollbar chassis mounting - Helicoils HELP!!!!

Was changing over the bolts on the front ARB mounts and the old bolts pulled out the helicoil inserts from the chassis leg. How can i get these back in? Do I have to get new ones and have a special tool or is there a trick to it??

i would say they will be weld captivated and they have broke free ,
unsure to be honest but i would imagine you would need the aid of a decent welder to sort it pal unfortunately
may need the top part of the box section cutting open then the captivated bolt part or lugs welding back in...
then the box top section you removed earlier welding back on ........
if this is the case will be a nightmare hope you sort it

there must be a way of putting in new helicoils though. The chassis leg still has threads in it but obviously they are bigger than the bolts hence why there is coils fitted in the first place. Dunno if they have them from new or maybe someone has helicoiled them before if there was a problem.

you buy helicoils as a kit of the size you want, come with a tool to wind them in...

can you wind the old ones back in on the bolt?

you may have to take them off the bolt and start them off...

iirc out the box they have a tag through them which you can wind on...

lift your carpets, there is a small vent on each side floor, cut the bottoms of 2 of the thin vents, bend them over, fit new nuts to the bolts, bend them back, job done#thats what i done to mine

thanks guys, think i need to buy some new coils then as the little tags aren't on no more so I can't rewind them back in.

I'm not chopping into my floor though, no chance.

side cutter do the job, there thin strips lol

if your doing heli-coils, you mite have to drill the holes, tap them out and fit new heli-coils, ive just done all 16 on me cam carriers. time serts are better, same sort of thing
it must have had heli-coils in the past as they are nuts tacked onto the inside of the leg
