Default cossie gear stick question....

I remember from my old cossie that the gear shift was quite close between gears and the shifter was quite short. Been norrowing my mates 1.8 cvh lately and its like a bus gear box lol

If he cut the stalk down would it be more like a cossie one or is it the actual gearbox thats different?? thanks

You would decrease the throw by moving the gearnob closer to the pivot point, but of course it will be lower down to reach the gearnob.
If it was a 2wd cossie you had the gears are close together, and box is unique to these models.
