Default Picking new toy up 2moro......

After dabbling with some german and italian cars recently, i missed an RS in my life so as of 2moro i am picking up a 3 owner, Red, F Reg S2, it has been dry stored for 10 years, but the recent owner has had it on the road for the last 12 mths or so. Its standard bar a scorpion exhaust, jetex filter in a standard drilled airbox, and is lowered. The standard S2 wheels are a black/grey colour (i sort of like them)

It has the "perry" dealer plates, handbook, pen (i dont think it works lol), reciept of sale to the first owner, MOT's and tax discs, history book stamped. It is very solid, battery trays mint, sills mint, fuse box mint, boot floors mint.

The plans are possible wheel change, loads of crome ( i live 3 doors down from a bufty, redrsmk5 ) !!! Abit of paint to freshen the car up, and abit more power !!! So i hope to show it over the next few months.

Pics to follow 2moro night............

Looks and sounds like one to preserve rather than cover in super glue and ram-raid Motorworld, coming out of the other side draped in spangly jewlery, cheap alloys wrapped in even cheaper rubber, and a "Motorsport" scripted sunstrip - the right of passage for any chav chariot!!! Years ago it was acceptable to buy an RST, turn it into 300hp mating-call, and park it outside a Brewsters or Hungry Horse pub. Nowadays people are realising their mistakes and it shows in the previous replies. Theres nothing more sickening than seeing a lovely, clean car that has survived the test of almost twenty years and the riggers of early nineties joyriding ruined by pointless trinkets - leave it to the Saxo and Clio brigade.

As for engine tuning remember its an old CVH, so unless you're going to renew everything stick to mild tinkering and steer well clear of the murderous bleed-valve! Oh and leave the chrome for old Cappers and Cortinas!

For the sake of your wallet, time, sanity, and resale value... Christ, for the sake of the Series 2 Escort RS Turbo, stand out from the crowd and leave it well alone!

Nice motor! Keep it that way.

Thanks for the comments, tintin i have no intention of turning into a chav mobile, id like to freshen it up abit but still keeping it as close to how it rolled off the production line. I like the clear front/side repeaters i think it freshens it up abit without going OTT(each to there own). Reguarding the engine mods im looking for around the 180 mark so im not completely trying to kill the CVH (big power is not for me).

Thanks again for the comments, all taken on board but before anything changes i need to go and buff the hell out of it lol !!!!!!!!!!

I'd go clear, and sort the wheels out... I hate black alloys at the best of times!
180bhp is nice and easy to achieve whilst preserving reliability.
