How easy are these to change and do you have to take the throttle body off to get to the sensor. Ive got a daft fault on my car when im driving it the car will chug every now and then. Sometimes when im driving it the car just goes on its own when i take my foot of the throttle pedal. It feels as if the choke has come on and the it goes back to normal. Im thinkin that it could be a faulty throttle switch.

 

Same problem can happen if the ECT-sensor fails (a little).
Had the same problem with my own 4x4, idle was raised to 1200-1300 rpm.

 

Do a sensor check with a multimeter mate, might reveal something amiss.

 

crank sen, ecu pins 3&4, 600-1000 ohms

phase sen, pins 5&23, 700-1200 ohms

charge sen, pins 11&31, @10c=6000 ohms @ 20c=3750 ohms @ 30c 1600 ohms

temp sen, pins 11&29, @10c=6000 ohms @ 20c=3750 ohms @ 40c 1600 ohms @ 60c=750 ohms @ 80c=380 ohms

map sen, pins 11&30, 50-600 ohms & pins 15&30, 500-6000 ohms

 

I wouldn't like to change one is situ, a lot easier if you take it off.

Does the connector on the engine ecu have numbers on so i know which wires to prope.

 

iirc the ecu plug has numbers on, you might have to take the small screw and cable tie off the plug cover on the harness to see them.

 

very easy to change in situ just use a 1/4 small ratchet with screwdriver attachments

 

it must be something silly cause the past 3 to 4 days the car has driven spot on,
