Whats your mk4 currently running?
If you have an efi management its a doddle really.
Mine was a 1.4 cvh carb.
Im now running a zetec turbo.

Click on my sig for more pics if you want.
You will need a modified rear engine mount.
EFI managent or carbs if you wish, twin 40's maybe?
Either a Fiesta RS turbo EFI inlet or the later EFI inlet as found on the mk6 escorts.
Fiesta turbo inlet needs an adapter plate to mate to the zetec head, the later inlet bolts straight on but not sure what injectors you need to run on it really.
Either use the zetec exhaust manifold and have a matching down pipe altered to fit your car or you can drill and tap the head as I did and bolt the cvh manifold on.
CVH gearbox bolts straight on so no worries there.
You need to find a suitable hose that will fit the larger zetec waterpump outlet.
You need the later mk6 escort top hose with the fan switch fitted to it.
Earth the negative wire from the temperature sensor to the engine as the cvh engine has a aluminuim housing and thus is the earth whereas the zetec housing is plastic and therefore needs an earth.
Cant remember anything else being needed but im sure theres a few people who can either add or change what ive wrting above for you.

if you go for n/a just get a 1.8 zetec with loom and pre pats ecu.
mod the engine mount but cutting off one of the lugs and welding another one on + drill the hole.
wiring is easy www.s2rs.co.uk have the diagrams on the site forum and a fair few people have done the change on there. i just took my 1.8 zetec out of my mk4 and put in a rs2k i4 lump so trust me na zetec is easy peezy and it will be BETTER on fuel than ur 1.6 xr3i is with more power so its a win win situation i think.
best way to do the mount is get a spare and do all the welding on that using the zetec for reference of which lug and the extra hole you need to weld on/drill out then when you do the swap its one in one out. pics of the mount are here:

i didnt weld the extra tube support and was using 130 spec lump and had no problems at all with it, had it in for a year then took out tuesday was a good conversion nice and simple yet a fairly good end result

Do someone have some pics about it?
Even when starter motor is right under the intake manifold?
I bought an 105bhp 1,8 zetec from 96 Escort, and im not sure does it fit into my mk4 1,6's original gearbox. In cvh starter motor is under the exhaust manifold, and in that zetec it is under the intake
What gearbox do i need to get that zetec work in mk4?
