Default mondeo ST24 to ERST....?

Hi guys, I'm debating whether or not to swap/px my ST24 for an Escort RST and I was just wondering if anyone had done something similar and also what their thoughts were.... I love the Escort but i'm a bit worried about the condition of the cars left and the every day reliabilty and running costs....

Also, Is there a big difference in performance from the ST?

Your thoughts please chaps...

Lee.

if you find a well looked after model then it would be a wise move as they are great fun and can be reliable if maintaned properly.
it will be like sitting on the floor and feeling everything compared to your mondy mate which is good or bad depending on wot you like.
alot of good s2s ar now going for 3k+ now though as alot or falling by the wayside cus of breakers

thanks bud..... i've just got back from a little trip out and got in a bit of a dice up with an old B reg Fiat Uno turbo.... I lost! turns out it was running 180bhp but obviously weighs about half what my ST does.
Pissed me right off as you can imagine!

I think that might help me in my decision... Cant have the good Fords' name rubbed in the shit like that!

Def need something turbo-charged!!!!!!!!

Sod reliabilty, time for a little fun me thinks.....

sounds like a s2 is wot you need, even with 170/180bhp there alot quicker than most peeps think and will piss off most modern hot hatches
just remember to respect one when you get it, run through the warm up cycle and warm down etc and she'll see you good

I own a st24 and a series 2. If you want comfort and a gas guzzler then the st is the choice. If you want a fastish car that will make you smile from ear to ear then the series 2 is the choice. The feel in speed is totaly different. The fuel is better on the series 2 but you dont worry about fuel costs on a high powered car any way. The way things are going the mondeos will be worth nothing but a few hundred quid in a few years thge way the tax and fuel go up.
