hi there, got a short motor in th garage that i got with a few other bits, i thot it was a rst blcok until i had a better look, it has 16 on it so is a 1600cc it also has 88 and 89 on th bkock, has no oil returbo pipe, and has domed pistons, is this a xr2i xr3i block ?

Just check for engine code...

 

well since the rst pistons are flat i must be a 2/3i engine

 

the rst block has flat pistons with valve cutouts so i'm guessing thats not a rst bottom end.

 

biggest give away is there is no oil return so must be a carbs block is there domed!
