Hi im looking for a bottom end for a fiesta rs turbo, My brother has a had a few escort rs turbos and i know that there are two different engines efi and mfi, I know the fiestas are all efi engines with smaller turbos and no lsd, but i have recently been told that only a fiesta turbo bottom end will fit due to stroke length?? Is this true as i thought any bottom end would fit ! I probably sound really dumb, but in my defense im a plumber not a mechanic ! Could you clear my confusion up ? many thanks in advance

 

i think only diff between fiesta and escort bottom end is the crankshaft sensor.because the fiesta runs efi it needs a signal from crank for spark so there is a hole at the front of the engine that the sensor goes through and the escort is mfi which runs a distributor for spark.ive heard of people drilling a hole at the front of the block for it and havent had any problems.
