Default S1 intercooler options

Anyone know of an intercooler that fits/works well for an S1?

Ideally it would be single pass and with 3" pipework and doesnt cost the earth!

I would preffer to buy something that fitted instead of modifying something and making it fit

Im sure I heard Pro alloy had a new large capacity I-cooler on the market or soon to be for the S1?

I'd go for the GRS to be honest Dave. I know it's not single pass but the standard Pro Alloy isn't that efficient when running decent power.

Daz, I think if I was buying aftermarket i'd go GRS!

Any idea what power/boost they are good upto?

will be running a 2.1 ZVH, Omex, Tubular manifold, T34, possibly throtle bodies, low comp pistons, 3" bore exhaust, BVH. (all going to plan anyway!)

was really wanting single pass and 3" pipework tho..I've got one in mind but need to find out if they are still available and if I can make it fit, all hassle tho!

Dave,

On AJC's 16i, we built a 1620cc CVH with big valve head, double valve springs, massive ports with matched manifolds and gaskets, Cossie throttle bodyNewman cam with solid lifters, T34 with 3" diameter exhaust, Omex 600 management with 55lb injectors and an air to air injector peaking 34 psi and holding 29. The injectors are 10% off reaching the reliable limit of duration so the engine is shifting quite a lot of air.

On the Pro cooler, we saw figures of 28 degrees cruising and 60 degrees on boost. On the GRS, most we saw is 14 cruising and 20 on boost,

I'll let you make the desicion!

Don't know if you've seen the thread about it....

depends on price....
GRS are the more expencive one where i would go for a Radtec....bin testet in mags and allways come out in top and it don't cost as much as the GRS.....
