Default New front bumper and bonnet for Escort GTI

Hi,

I have a "Ford ESCORT GTI 5 DOOR HATCHBACK (1998 Reg) 1796 Petrol Manual RED" that needs a replacement bonnet and front bumper. I'm not mechanically minded unfortunately, and I wondered what the best way forward is.

I checked my local scrap yard (Silverlake Autoparts) last weekend, but there was nothing there. Would it be best to go to a motor factor, Ford garage or buy from eBay? I also received several quotes online via the Parts Gateway.

There's quite a few bumpers on eBay - most of them are primed and the prices vary quite a bit. If I buy a primed one, how difficult is it to respray and where's the best place to get the right coloured paint? How many tins would I need?

Questions, questions! Anyway, hopefully someone can point me in the right direction - you all seem to know what you're doing here.

Many thanks,

Mike

I would get pattern parts, from someone like HADRIAN(body panels), then just get them painted and fit yourself, you would be looking at around £350(all in) to do the pair, but paint sample can be got from old parts, by use of a paint chip that is used for the match.
That is how my body place does things and the match is 100% perfect.
