hi dan it depends really how much you would like to spend mate and also what spec you,re after! i thought 5-6k would sort out my mk1 but got the urge for cozy power instead! now i,m past 11k and the shell after being fully rebuilt to take this power is only just being painted! think carefully, but spend wisely mate!! mk1,s or 2,s are fetching big money at the mo and with show season kicking off, will only get more expensive!!

I have a genuine mk1 mexico which is completely stripped and shell has been sandblasted and zinc primered.It was done 6 months ago and is suspended on a spit awaiting the various new panels which i have bought to be welded in(floor,sills,rear lowers,wing tops etc)It might not be ideally what you want but its the best way to go for a shell that will last.
