Default Building a workshop / multicar garage

I'm just spec'ing out a garage / workshop that I'm planning to get going with in the summer.
The problem I have is guessing the amount of room required!!

What I want is to have space for a 2 post ramp and storage space for at least 6 cars.

That space for the cars will be for storage, but would also like to have the space to work around them if need be (i.e. not squashed together!)

I thought about leaving about 5m x 4m per car space. That would give 120m2 of floor space.

I was looking at a metal framed shed that is 60' x 35' (18.2m x 10.7m), but knowing me, if I build it, I'll run out of room fast!!!

I'm sure some of you out there has workshop experience in what space is good enough to work around!! Please give me your advice!

5M * 4M is plenty of space for if you want to work on them, a car is only about 2M wide at the end of the day, so you would have 2M each side of all but the end one, thats more than enough, especially as you could always shuffle a couple of them about to get a bit more.

sounds awesome, wish I had the space to build something like that!

5m x 4m is the space I use per car for our RSOC Regional Days. That allows a door to be fully opened without hitting the other car.
Yeh, I could even fork out on that skateboard things and shovel them about. I just checked that out on CAD and see that I could squash in at least 8 Sierra's in that space. Not that I even had 8 Sierra's!

I know car storage is an issue up here, so just need it big enough so I could rent a space in my garage to make some of the money out of it.

Chop, I've been in Bill Snr's garage................but I need bigger than that! His is only 1 row.......I need 2 rows and also room for a huge workbench (to cover it with sh!!e!) and enough height to raise the car (i.e. same height as Scotties at the peak).

It's just the overall size that would be handy for advise. Loft space would be good, although that can be put in at a later stage.

Let me draw up the plan on CAD that I was looking at and I'll post it up later.
