i have a 1992 4x4 sapphire which i am looking to put onto classic insurance for obviuos reasons.does anyone know if i can use the no claims bonus on my every day car for the isurance for the cossie to?

 

One or the other mate! Apparenly they only count upto 5 years NCB, anything more than that is not taken into account, that's with greenlight anyway. You can start up another policy and have 2 sets of NCB's though.

 

5 years applied to no claims discount, but you can aif you had say 10 years NCD, split that into 2 policies with 5 years each.....

 

On my Classic policy, you do not use any no-claims bonus, nor do you accrue any. They work a price out, check your history (just asked to see it to prove I hadn't had loads of "fault" claims then sent it straight back) and away you go.

I then used the vacant NCB on another car instead. Confirmed with the Classic policy people that it was okay to use that NCB and they said fine.

I would check with the individual insurance underwriter though as they can all vary, even if it is slightly.
