Mty brother had it done, and he said it's the best thing he's ever done.

His vision is as near perfect as you can get, and his glasses are in the bin. He's so much happier now that the small but annoying burden has been lifted.

Best of luck - it's not too painful, but it will be worth it!

there is nothing to be scared of!!! Its the safest thing in the world.

The machine that cuts the flap in your eye can detect 200 movements in your eye per second so if you move your eye ball it stops and doesnt start again until your eye is back in the same place....

as easy as 1 2 3

Depending on how your eyes are it costs from £900 per eye right up to £1500

www.ultralase.co.uk

only in chelmsford, they have the most up to date machines in this country and I felt totally at ease when I had the consultation.

Prices included everything from initial consultation right through to after care.

Initial consultation you have all the usual eye test etc, then you get to make your mind up. Phoning and asking as many questions as possible right up to treatment and a 24 hour helpline after treatment in case of any worries.
For 2 weeks after you have to give up exercise and where plain glass spectacles in case of dust (no eye make up for girls), and you have to wear plastic protection pads at night (ha ha grant wont like that) and 2 different drops for 2 weeks after.

Check ups: the next day, 1 week after, 1 month after and 6 months after that.

They are so nice there and more than helpful - i recommend anyone to do it even before I have had it done.

Its not 100% safe though... I know its 99.9999999% safe but I am just the unluckiest person when it comes to things like this.

For example, have you ever had a BRAND new Isky valve spring break clean in half in one of your engines when running one in!

If it can go wrong, it will for me!

I KNOW I will do it one day though as I can't wear contacts and putting a crash helmet on with glasses is a MAJOR pain and they always steam up when I try really hard in track

Lee - you can't compare having laser eye surgery to a faulty valve spring

If you ever want to chat to my brother about it, you can give him a bell, and he'll tell you all about it.

Lee - how can you say you're unlucky?

You survived an accident that plenty of other people would probably have been a lot worse off in....

I've been thinking about this on and off for a couple of years now.

Somebody one of my best mates knows had it done and he was like Mr Magoo before (no joke). He now has 20/20 vision.

Since my missus is'nt adverse to going under the knife , I suspect I should be a man about it and get it done.

Or you could just follow Tiff's advice and change your plug leads for 20/20 vision

I think ultimately i will have this done too

However.. for all other specs wearers out there looking for another alternative... have you tried the new MONTHLY contact Lenses?

Ive had em in a few months now and they are absolutely fantastic...
You puit em in on 1st day of month and leave em in.. until the next month, so only 12 times per year you have to fook about with em

Porkie.. may be a solution for you pal?

Best thing I ever did

Top stuff, the proceedure really isnt anything to worry about, though youll get nervous anyway (butterflies etc), and you wont sleep a wink the night before, lol. Thats the worst bit honestly!!!

Was ace, no pain after surgery at all, fookin mint, only downside as smit said was sitting in my hotel room that night with my eyes closed and not being able to watch TV

Id recommend it to anybody, best £4000 I have ever spent, I used Accuvision....glad to see someone else going for it
