Hi guys

i am looking at getting some 18's for my saph and was wondering what the best tyre size is to use. or what people do use.

Depends what offset your using though, think mines were 35mm, pretty hard ride on tyres that profile though.

Hello mate, 215/35/18's are fine, mine is standard ride height at the moment though, although I put up with the same shit roads in Dorset as you do! LOL

i have 225 they do catch very occasionally on the fron but i reckon 215s would also, rolling the arch they will be fine, backs never catch

They'll fit with 215/35/18's and 35mm offset, i just checked mine again. Cars with Koni's and Eibach springs here just FYI.

215 35 18's on mine 8x18" ET35 and on the rear they rubbed like fuck...!!! Had to take 4mm off the back face of the alloy and grind 3mm off the arch lip and all is well now..... And that is with a -30mm AVO kit and Koni's.............

I run 8x18's on 215/35's with ET35 and it doesn't rub, it's quite low too

Thats whats on my saph (215/35/18 8x18,et35) and the backs were fine.

18" handle like shit. and the ride feels really hard aswel. but yh 215/35/18 bang on.

i droped down to 17"

My wheels are Grp A Fitment, ET33 IIRC, my car was shit hot on 17's, shame they were pikey max power wheels that came with the car! Pmsl

Sierra's do handle better on 17's though...

the grip won't differ much between 17s or 18s, it's about the diameter / width / compound (Contact patch) of the tire that matters.

Maybe its cos im running 5 stud granny hubs??? But the rear discs are identical to cos vented rears and the hub carriers are the same too so fuck knows........

will the focus rs rims fit directly on with no hassles then?
on the rears they shouldn't have a problem but what about the fronts?
