Default Stainless water pipe question

I have a 4x4 sapph. My car has a straight water pipe down at the rad, but i thought the 4x4 was supposed to have a 90degree bend on it?

Is there any reason why mine would have been changed to the 2wd type?

As already stated early 4x4 had a straight one, later models had the 90 degree jobbie

mines is a straight one which I replaced with a blingy one from fusion fabrication, well crafted bit of pipe work

I just used a bit of SS pipe from local metal place, £3 job done with two jubilees at each end.
