Default National Day enthusiasm

Has National day died??

Tim's track thread wasn't a massive hit and from my own experience the buzz about National day hasn't been the same for some time

This is not a thread to have a dig at the RSOC, as i would actually like to see things improve - just wondering what we can do to get National Day as the main event it used to be?

i used to enjoy nat day at donno, as it was almost as good as ford fair but donno is only a 15-20 minute drive compared to an hour+ for ford fair

Since it's back at Donny this year hopefully more positive comments will be voiced.
Good weather will also help.
Infield parking is a must though.

i dont think its just national day,the rsoc in general is very static and quiet.central day has lots of clubs booked on stands, but only 2 confirmed regional groups.if the rest dont get a move on they will go past the cut off date to get stand passes, and have to pay full price on the gate to park in the general car park

Out of interest Lloyd who are these 2 groups?

I'm alot happier that ND is back at Donny this year, don't get me wrong I like rockingham as a venue but ND last year there just didn't have any atmosphere at all!

Donny need to sort their security though! I'll be sleeping in the car, night and day and take my Staffi! Fpmsl

Seriously though, as mentioned, infield parking is a must!

Norfolk Group should be there too?

Am more enthusiastic about it now I know its at Donno, always liked it as a venue and the view of the track is good too. As said above, thought it was a disaster atmosphere wise at Rockingham last year, but then again the weather didn't help.

The Norfolk Group will be going to Central Day, but the deadline isn't until 06 April, so we're just making sure we get all the stragglers in at out meeting at the end of March .

i do think last years national day was rubbish, no atmosphere, rubbish weather and the layout was absolutely horrendous.

Im glad its back at Donny, at least its a better track for starters, and the layout seems to flow better there

The reason I question that is because I'm sure some of the cars from previous years went missing from inside the place (the paddocks)??
Or am I totally wrong?

As far as I am aware they were stolen from out side but this might not be the case.

No cars have been stolen from croft so far with infield car parking and I thought it was the same at donington.

I'm looking forward to RSOC ND back at Donny this year.

I'm armed with slicks, new rear beam and hopefully a new gearbox as well so it will be interesting.

If the weather is semi-decent then it should be a cracker!

Really couldn't say mate as i have no idea what area they were stolen from

Personally i would not park anywhere apart from infield though unless a wasn't taking my RS,wouldn't have a problem leaving the Foci daily runner outfield.

cant go on a group stand because iam not a national member, noise limit means i cant go on track,so i will probably be on the aff stand if i go.certainly will not be leaving the escos in the general car park.

i thought one did go from inside? and im 99 per cent you will find that they tried having porkies from in a garage and done alot of damage and also same goes for stians old blue escos and the norwigian silver cossie'd mark 1.

Only cos croft is too bloody far away for the car theives and chavs to make an appearence

tbh ive only ever been to your croft meet once...but it was a awsome day out and camping out the evening before was a good laugh as we sneeked onto the circuit and sat down on the main straight for a couple of J's Will attend again this year as long as fuel costs dont exceed five quid per litre

Cars getting stolen from any Ford show I can only put down to lack of effort on the owners side tbh....it aint hard to totaly immobilise any old Ford in a couple of minutes.

Thats true, but it did happen in the middle of the night before the show, not when the show was on.Still no excuse,as security was supposed to protect these cars,as the RSOC had paid Donington to provide security.Regards,Micky
