Was heading to work this morning and coming down the national speed limit stretch as usual. As I came up behind a guy in an Astra doing about 40-45. As I got closer I started to slow. The arse then stamped on his brakes and starts waving and calling me all sorts. I thought knob and raised my hands as if to say "What are you doing?" As I indicated to turn off he wound his window down and waved more rude gestures. I have to admit I did lose my temper and took off after him. After about a mile he went to turn off and I realised it was kind of pointless and not worth the hassle and was a pretty pointless excercise so spun round and headed back to work.

I just don't understand why people dawdling along at 15mph or so under the limit get all irate and shirty when somebody comes up behind them actually doing the limit. I didn't tailgate or anything just approached. Even his emergency stop didn't cause me problems of slowing. The gesticulation just wound me right up though and was the last straw.

Sitting here at work now and am still miffed.

Rant over I feel (marginally) better now

 

Sounds like a proper twat, wouldnt take any notice personally, the road is NOT short of idiots like that.

 

I've learnt to ignore it as it boils your head too much. As Chip says theres to many idiots about to get upset about it. Just blow them a kiss and keep some cs handy in case they chase you and want your botty!

 

Has anyone noticed but in recent years, most people get arsey when you dare overtake them, especially if you have a fast car. Its almost as if people are conditioned nowadays to sit in their safe little line of traffic, even when its safe to overtake people often flash their lights to express their "displeasure" at someone daring to be different!

 

At the end of the day it is you that is angry and are continuing to feel miffed about it whilst the other driver has probably forgotten about it by now.

What prat!! I hate these people. Dont tell me he was driving a 3.8i turbo, water injection and with 4wd and sports suspension. Pottering about clog up the road and never keep up with rest of the traffic, yep luv em.

more likely he's sitting telling folk about this twat who thought he was a hard cunt who shit himself and turned around and went away after following him when he turned off and was about to stop.
