I mean in age terms not mileage.
reason is I changed the belt on my escort in 2004 I have done less than 5k miles since and think it's about time but if it don't need it I won't and yes I am aware of the consequences of a belt snapping, it's already happened to this car once when the previous owner took it for a service in 2002 and the ford dealer forgot to change it whilst doing the work and it snapped on the way home!! 3 k was the bill I have lol

Seriously though mate for what it costs and the time it takes then its not worth not doing it. If I kept one for long enough and depending on annual mileage, Id do it every year or every rebuild, whichever comes first.

The belt on my S1 gets changed every 3 years. Mileage wise it won't have covered 1500 in that time but they degenerate over time, as well as mileage.
