Default MK2 escort 1600 ghia 4 door.

Have recently aquired a mk2 1600 ghia 4 door, (very cheap) has been stood for a while and needs a bit of work, but me and my staff have decided to turn it in to a low budget weekend car, ie, strip out to lighten, minor engine, supension, body work mods, throw in a roll cage ect. Any how, was thinking about the fact that its 4 door, and wondering whether to weld up rear doors?
I know this would be a ridiculous bodge on a road going escort, but as we are just going to strip it out and use as a play toy, just wanted any opinions on doing this for any practical reason, other than i was thinking of fitting wide arch kit, and it might stiffen it up a bit, or whether best left alone?? and if anyone on here has done this?
Opinions would be appriciated, cheers.

I am not sure if you intend using it on the road ?
If so it is a no no as door opening is part of the mot.

Wink

opening rear doors are not an mot failuer if they dont, that only applies to front doors. if you want to keep its rear seats just fit reclining fronts and if not just take the rears out and weld the doors shut...... trust me mate....im an mot tester and have been for over 5 years
