but telling us that they won't be putting up feul duty as promised just means that they'll fuck us over on soemthing else

read somewhere that they need to raise an extra £8 billion in tax, who the fuck is going to cough up for that?
i'm already in the 40% bracket as it is so i don't want to be paying any more

the problem is that they are fiddling where the money is being spent
if you were taxed according to the service that was being funded then things would be much more different and our roads would be the best in the world

over the last 10 years, starting in 1998 we've had the following rises in "feul duty"

5p
6%
2p
frozen
frozen
1.28p (wtf, how figured that one out then?)
1.92p (again, wtf?)
inflation rise
inflation rise
2p

so that's quite a huge whack considering that fags have doubled in price over the past decade as well

so where is all the money going to?

Small fuel increases like that were better than the tories scheme of 10% each year (or whatever it was) no questions asked - if they were in power, fuel would be £5 a litre by now

if there was a % increase each year that was set in stone then at least we would have some sort of understanding of how much we were going to get shafted
but the randomness of it all is what really gets on my tits

if it's linked to inflation then is it not in itself a cause of inflation?
if it's linked to productivity then that will suffer when it gets to high, but it won't come down when it's shit will it
and no one gets inflation busting pay rises anymore so we can't even afford to buy this stuff now, look at the story yesterday about the price of a laof of bread, it's gone over a pound now because all of a sudden china and india want to eat more, what were they eating before they started to eat bread?

if things are laid out and made clear to everyone in simple terms then at least we can all understand, but they befuddle matters by blaming something or the other for the rises rather than telling us they've fucked up and need more money

it's just the same as when the vikings and then middle aged lot were running the show "king needs a new castle, you need to pay more tax"

We're gonna get fucked over royaly

Like we always do - but people dont realise the reprocussions of putting the price of fuel up by 2p as everything made by anyone anyhwere uses fuel!! EVERTHING!!

So if you put fuel up by 2p you average bread factory has to pay extra on all the different types of transport it uses to get the basic ingredients to the factory (be it by truck plane boat whatever) then you have to pay extra to get the bread to the supermarket main depo, then extra to get it to the supermarket itself, then we have to pay more to get to the supermarket to get the bread and more on the way back home and who takes all that extra increase on the chin? The companies? No we do cos they all put up their prices and we get fucked over again!!

This is the same for every product we buy form the supermarkets!!!

These type of increase have been a major contributor to the price of wheat doubling in the past year or so!!

All in all we're scewed!

and just look how much this war business has cost as well
if the troops came back they won't need to shell out for all that combat gear they don't have

apparentyl we've not spent anywhere NEAR the amont of money the yanks have, there was a thing about if every $ they had spent was stacked up it would equate to the size of your average 6 storey office block

I turned the TV on the other day and apparently some of the government HAVE to have 2 houses and qualify for housing allowence??? (In other words payed by our taxes)

I have no idea why, but WTF? Most of us can't afford a flat due to prices, so why can they spend our cash on 2 houses???

So basically.........

*Asking the European Commission for tougher targets on car fuel emissions
*From 2009, major reform of the vehicle excise duty. For new cars from 2010, the lowest polluting cars will pay no road tax in the first year. Higher polluting cars will pay more.
*Cigarettes up 11p a packet.
*Beer up by 4p a pint, wine 14p a bottle, spirits 55p a bottle and cider 3p a litre by Sunday.
*Duties on alcohol will go up by 2% above inflation for next four years.
*Winter fuel allowance will go up from £200 to £250 for the over 60s and from £300 to £400 for the over 80s.
*For environmental reasons, fuel duty will rise by 0.5p per litre in real terms in 2010. He said he was postponing the 2p increase in fuel duty until October this year.
