Tried changing my rear springs tonight on my sapph but I couldn't get the old ones out
I've changed the rear springs on 2 xr4x4s and an escort cossie before but for some reason I couldn't get them out tonight, I even went to remove the 2 17mm bolts that hold the rear beam to the chassis and one of the captive nuts gave way
<-real.
Any tips for changing them would be appreciated

I changed my rear springs on my old sierra i just put a long bar in where the suspension arm is and got a friend to stand on the bar. It was a bit of a chew on but i got it done in the end.
remove shock absorber bolt from rear arm remove the 2x13mm nuts holding the anti-roll on the chassis, then try pry them out of the location on the swong arm if this fails, you will need to undo the driveshafts from the hub side this will then allow the swing arm to drop right away

Thanks guys
I was trying the first method but I hadn't removed the antiroll bar mounts, I think I had to do that on the escort cosworth but that was 10 years ago so I can't remember

We tried all of the above this evening but the only way it could be done was to unbolt the driveshaft. I've got the spring out on one side and hopefully I'll rebuild it tomorrow.
