Default Different spring rates??

When cleaning some bits for repainting I discovered to see 2 different front springs on my car. 1 Spring has got a colour code 'red red' and the other one has got 'green violet'.

The car has yellow Koni's but I'm not sure if these springs are also from Koni.

Does anyone know the difference between these colour codes or is there not much difference between the ones on my car?

Hope you can help.

the 4wd cars were supposed to have diffrent spring rates for the driver and passenger side front to allow for the drivers weight as well as the diff etc on that side from the factory

perhaps this is the case with these?

That crossed my mind too. But I have a lhd car... so still fit the most strongest spring at the turbo (diff) site??

And as they are black coated these springs arent from KONI. Any ideas what brand they can be??

test the poundage

make up a rig like this to work out the spring rate and it's easy

just make sure you make it from metal as wood tends to bend a bit more

Looks like standard springs to me wim.
Have some original springs of my own car somewhere.
Can check if they are the same color coding if you want?

Hi,

Well the car is lowered and the springs arent cutted. They are also shorter than original ones. Could take the spring of the damper without using special tools to clamp the spring.

Contacted Koni and they told me they have never made black springs. So its from another brand.
