Default new truck-

having deciding to get more into vehicle collections, delivery's,recovery work i have bought a newer truck.am also looking to buy a tilt/slide bed truck too,and maybe a van for collecting bikes etc.....car sales alone is just a bit slow for my liking at the mo!

im looking to offer collections of cars people have bought on net(ebay etc),and are either untaxed or they dont have time/trust it to get them home(cosworths!).also taking cars to shows/trackdays,or picking broken ones up!basically anything that needs moving.

based in warrington, northwest.anyone need anything doing-pm me for a price.

jay

Are you sure tachos and o licence not needed now? I am sure the exception for recovery vehicles to be tacho excmpt has been removed. As you are going to be using it for hire/reward you may well come under the scope. Worth checking with vosa mate rather than getting in the shit

if you only use it for private use wont need a o licence just dont give receipts for any recovery work but might still need tacho calibrating i am just about to become a tacho tester going on the analogue/digital tachograph testers course in april

thats what im hoping for...........

someone in scotland buys car on ebay from london.....say 220 miles away.if i can collect it for,say Ł220-250ish it may be worth doing, rather than drive it home and get stopped with no road rax/insurance,or it break down on way home....

and they dont have to take time off work, ruin their weekends, wait for trains, rely on a lift, etc etc.

im sure if i can advertise it right then i should get enough work to make it pay-then buy a newer/better truck...........hopefully.

i used to work for a firm who was contracted to aa and rac and loved the recovery/breakdown work......but very very unsociable hours!

Jay i used to sell some cars on ebay before i got fed up and now i only use autotrader.

Loads of people wanted them delivered but i didnt trust my van not to chuck it half way to london from up here!!! Ł1 a mile seems to be going rate.
