All depends on the car, and what its set up to run on?

What car have you got?

I don't use V-Power, largely because it's an 11 mile drive (at least!) to get any, and I'm tight.

if its a guy whose helped you out by mapping your car and giving you advice on how to run it best, i wouldnt refer to him as "the geezer who sed"

my two cents

but on a turbo'd car you will notice the difference more than n/a

I use a tankfull every couple of months, mainly for the cleaning benefits of the fuel.
other wise the cars ran on normal fuel. its not a performance car so doesnt suffer

Saph gets it everytime, unless i really cant get to a shell, the 205 did occasionally get v power diesel, but it never seemed to make a difference, back to keroseen and chip fat then :P

mine was mapped on 97 ron always use shell if i can if not i put the 97 in

to be honest the shell doesn't make any differance to my car

i could put 102 ron wouldn't make any differance either as it's not mapped for it

the major differance the way the car pulls/feels when the outside air temp is cold

like these winter mornigs

dont belive the bullshite .... if your car is mapped on 97 ron then the higher octane fuel wont make it produce any more power all the higher ron will do is protect the engine as it's better fuel

I doubt Chris said it for no reason - follow his advice!!

V power is no more expensive (round here anyway) than any other super-unleaded. I always use shell diesel in my daily as well - again no more expensive and it runs better and I get better mpg then with Toss-co or other supermarket fuels.

I've used nothing but v-power since i rebuilt my engine, i think its not just the ron but the quality of fuel is better as apposed to tesco 99 and bp ultimate that has just had a load of additives added- just wot i've heard

I would say 95% of the time i use V power. But sometimes i just put the supermarket fuel in,if i use this i try not to go silly with the right pedal. This is a bit hard not to do in a cossie though. At least with V power you know its good fuel.

since when did BP make a 98ron petrol?

BP Ultimate Unleaded has a minimum Research Octane Number (RON) of 97. Ordinary petrol sold in the UK is 95 RON. The higher octane quality of BP Ultimate Unleaded means that it burns better than ordinary petrol to release energy more efficiently. So it can help your engine to deliver improved performance and better fuel economy, and protect it from the harmful effects of knock.

On shell V-Power for me anything else and the car just don't feel the same

if i can't get it i use Esso Supreme 97ron as it fas better than BP 97ron Ultimate shite
