Thats a few years old, you must look after it! (they're black now) Secret is to keep dry-cell battery's topped up.

Definetley don't leave em flat , not even for a week or two!!!

here's mine odyssey 545
Cranking ability is as good as the biggest
AH battery i've ever had. but,
these don't like low current draw like
car alarm/stereo over 3-4days.
if you use the car everyday its fine
even in the freezing cold mornings.
the weight saving is massive tho

.

Home made to suit riviting to my chassis, dont know how well it could be mounted on a more normal car.

For those mounting them on the side on a flat surface - I saw a kit car with a machine ally billet clamp on made by spec R, that was very cool

Those DMS Red-Top style racing batteries are a bad bad idea for a road-car.

Optima on the other hand.

I have an Optima Red Top in mine.

On the same note,

what would be the best battery for a car that's not used for 6 months, and is in a remote garage (there is electricity, but i don't want a trickle charger in there if sometimes I never look in that garage for months, it could fucking burn down without me knowing, lol)

I don't care if its empty and I can recharge, I'm just fed up with normal batteries that can't make it through the winter if I don't go in and charge the battery monthly. (wich I always forget anyways).
