Unhappy My cat just died tonight.....im gutted!!

As above....some bastard ran my cat over and didnt even stop.
Sitting down watching tv and we heard a noise at the cat flap but it didnt sound right,so we opened the front door to see our beloved family pet of 8 years lying on the floor gasping for breath.
He tried to move but just dragged his back legs and hid under my car.
We quickly got him in a box and he was at the vets within 15 mins...when the vet opened the box there was blood everywhere from internal injuries and he was literally taking his last breaths. Me and the missus were devasted ....he was one of a kind and had the best character of any cat .....even our local vet commented about what a lovely nature he had.

We then had the task of returning home to break the bad news to our 9 year old little girl who absolutely loved him to bits. She hasnt stopped crying for the last couple of hours....bless her.

The annoying thing is that we live in a quiet square and everyone knows our cat so im really pissed off that its more than likely someone we know whos hit the poor little boy.

I never thought id see the day where i got upset about a cat but its so true what they say about pets becoming part of the family.

God im gonna miss him sleeping on my pillow tonight and every other night come to think of it.

R.I.P Snowflake

i must say we are all truly gutted.....i just feel for my little girl.....everytime i look at her she starts sobbing....shes already gone thru the photos and stuck some on the fridge.

If someone had stopped and tried to help or let someone know i wouldnt feel so bad but to leave a poor cat for dead is just unforgivable and if it was someone in the square then it will come out in the wash oneday!!!

We had the same thing happen to one of our cats last summer & they didn't stop either, my 7yr old still cries now if we mention the cats name or sometimes she has bad dreams about the cat !

Really sorry to hear your bad news, cats are great & all have their own little personality.

Simon.

very sorry to hear mate

most people will know my car got run over not long ago and the driver didnt stop then.., he was in a veryy bad way, had to go under the knife twice to have his pelvis bolted back together, then bolted back onto his spine, also his back legs wer both broke...and was in the vets for a weeks...

hes now home, but stuck in a cage, and got to let him out for a walk around the house 3 times a day to get the feeling back in his legs, as when we found him it reminds me off when you said your cat was dragging his back legs.....

but im so sorry for you mate i realy am!

Thanks for all the kind comments people....got a few tears as i type now.

He was 12 or so but he loved his life at home and was well loved by all the family.

Gonna seem strange in the morning not being woken at 6.45 on the dot to the sound of his meow .

He did go out in style tho....we had salmon tonight and he feasted on the leftovers literally 15 mins before we found him. He only went out for a poo as he always does after a meal then he comes straight back in and settles down for the night on his little quilt next to the radiator.....god love him

A few weeks ago someone ran over a cat on one of the main drags going through my town, and it was just in the middle of the road and people were driving round it...

I just stopped my focus in middle of the road, got out, picked it up, and put it in in the bushes, checked the collar for a phone number, but nothing.. if it was a wild animal then fair enough, but someones family pet thats pretty sick

RIP Snowflake, he looks so loveable.

our mylo is in the vets today having his nuts done and also chipped

its a real pity when you see animals knocked down in the road, saw a fox on the pavement the other day that had been knocked down, went back after i had got home and put a cloth over it.

heaven forbid nything happens to our as we live next to a not so busy road but they go fuckin flyin up and down it
