Default cosworth coil pack conversion

can you use coils from any ford in this conversion?£400 seems a bit steep for a kit and my friend is an auto electric whiz who could make something similar up for a fraction of the cost!anybody made up their own and want to share the info?

Did mine for around £150 i used a 1.6 escort zetec coilpack and cut the

ends off my oe leeds and fitted the coil pack terminal ends.

already had a second ignition amp with heat sink

the only parts that i had to buy were the coil pack driver board (89.99

from msd via ebay)

and the sub loom (50.00 off ryan)

The cost is ONE of the reasons I decided to junk the piece of crap ecu, and go aftermarket with direct coilpack drive, ie no amp(external), when you add closed loop etc aftermarket ecu looks good value.
