Default Rocker cover paint

I know that the painting of the cover has been covered before but what about stripping the existing paint. I assume it's best to get it blasted but has anyone just used paint stripper?

Yeah paint stripper does an excellent job, I then imeresed it in a bath of hot sugar soap for a minute, removes the last of the stripper and gives a good "key" for the primer - which should be acid etch primer.

Well I dont know what you'd call it in Australia but in Ireland this stuff is called "sugar soap", Its an alkaline white crystaline powder that disolves in water. Most DIY/hardware places stock it. Its used to leave a chemically clean surface for paint to adhere to. Google it for more info.....
