hi all ive got a mk4 bonus that im buildin into a erst rep and wanted to put a boot release on it as im smoothing the lock out just wonderd wat models have them that would fit ie: rs turbo,xrs or do i need a newer escort for one?
and also wat parts will i need i will be putting a switch in the dash and also having work off the key fob. help plz lol

Go find urself an xr2i, mondeo, or mk5 escort down the breakers. They all come with boot releases (solenoid and switch). To be released off the key fob, you need to check the alrm has that output, and get yourself down to an approved alarm fitter to get the to wire up an output from the alarm to the boot solenoid.

 

What you want to find is a Mk1 orion, they have a factory fitted boot pop and im 99.9% sure it bolts straight into an escort, and it has a proper solenoid on it aswell not a crappy motor driven thing.

and u say motor u mean the bit that i need to bolt in the boot with the catch or just a motor to operate the i still need the catch/release bit?

 

Well you know i only use quality parts from quality cars and Orions are about as good as they came in 84/85

 

Wouldnt mind de-locking my boot while im at it, is the 2i stuff easy to fit?

 

the orian 1 is ment to be a direct fit but carnt find any at scrap yards

Well for the people that know me too well they know i hoard quite a horrendous amount of stuff.

I do have one somewhere but to be honest the stuff i have im not in any rush to sell, if theres a worthwhile offer though ill happily bung it your way.
