Front mount, which one?
Got a 90 spec s2, want to fit a front mount cooler just wondering which one is the best?
Was looking at the Autospecialists one but have heard that its crap and people have sent there ones back due to loss of power.
What one would you guys recomend? and what sort of price with twin fans?

RADTEC,
Dont forget there is more to it than the inlet temps alone. How well does the front mount allow the rad to get a share of the cold air?
Radtecs are designed with this in mind. You will see if you look at the type of core they use compared to others.

Was out on Friday night in AJC's RS1600i trying to find out why we can't run more than 6 degrees ignition advance without det starting. Did a datalog run and then watch some alarming figures in real time.
These figure were air charge temps. They were rising as fast as the boost pressure and this was on a Pro Alloy single pass cooler on a T34 at 26 psi boost. 65 degrees C peak temps. As soon as it came on boost the temps just shot up.

26PSI!!!! i was not running that sort of spec, i was running 14psi on efi OFAB with 195 chip beige injectiors and stg3 t3 and it was fine
Daz C....blimey that's sky high, not runnin that boost but at 1.5bar on a stg3 t3, act's don't go over 40 on the hottest summer days as long as you're goin along at a fair pace (even on track) with my grs! 6 degrees advance ain't much is it....with lower act's and some more advance it'll be alot quicker lol.... when mine goes into the 50's it's noticably alot more lethargic and loses it's snappiness.
custom single pass if money isnt an option, doesnt need to be full front mount to get good act's, check out t28rst on here, retains std fan and plenty of airflow to rad plus never see's act's over 28-30,cant ask for more than that
I've backed it off from the peak 34 and held 29 psi boost it was running and increased the fuel to try and help keep the charge temps down a little and det at bay. Seems like the pro alloy cooler is ok to about 18 ish but after that it's on it's knees.
We're looking at ditching it for a grs but the lead time is a little offputting. Need to check how long. The car needs more advance than 6 degrees. It's quite lively with the boost going through it but it'll be a lot better with advance.

Well I am sure to be corrected on this but my last ZVH was making 294bhp and 354lbft of torque and with my custom made Radtec single pass the highest I got was around 53 degrees but that was under load. back off for a few seconds and it would drop straight off! The Radtec chargecooler I had was a load of pants and was well over 80 degrees at 20psi.
yer like andy says, give graham a bell hes a top chap and will help you out!
